Thanks to my friend Claudia we now have a stunning new layout on the Media Site. The layout is featuring Maggie’s photoshoot for Flaunt magazine back in 2007.
Maggie Gyllenhaal has signed up to topline Eric Howell’s supernatural thriller “Voice From the Stone,” which K5 Intl. is selling in Cannes.
Pic, produced by Dean Zanuck and Stefano Gallini, is based on the Italian novel “Le Voce della pietra” by Silvio Raffo.
Gyllenhaal will play a nurse trying to help a boy haunted by malevolent forces within the walls of an old house in the Italian countryside.
Thesp is filming “Still I Rise,” helmed by Daniel Barnz, and will also star in helmer Tanya Wexler’s romantic comedy “Hysteria” with Hugh Dancy.
She is repped by CAA and the Schiff Company.
K5 Intl. has been busy at Cannes, selling Helena Bonham-Carter starrer “Toast” to new U.S. distrib W2 and Paul Walker starrer “Vehicle 19″ to Blighty’s Optimum Releasing and Germany’s Kinowelt, both divisions of Gaul’s StudioCanal.
The German-Anglo outfit sold “Here,” starring Ben Foster, to Strand Releasing in the U.S.
Maggie Gyllenhaal will play Nobel-winning scientist Marie Curie in a special reading of Radiance: The Passion of Marie Curie, taking over for Meryl Streep, who had to bow out due to a scheduling conflict. Streep’s spokesperson said in a statement that the two-time Oscar winner was “very disappointed to miss this important and inspiring event.”
Gyllenhaal joins the all-star cast of Radiance, which also includes Amy Adams, Bill Camp, Allison Janney, David Morse, Liev Schreiber, and Brent Sexton. Written by Alan Alda and directed by Bob Balaban, the reading anchors the 2011 World Science Festival Opening Night Gala Celebration on June 1 at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall.
I’ve replaced some of the press conference pictures with high quality version and also added a few new ones.

Production is slated to start on May 23, on location in Pittsburgh.
Still I Rise comes to theaters in 2012 and stars Maggie Gyllenhaal, Viola Davis. The film is directed by Daniel Barnz.
I got bored with the old gallery layout so decided to make a new one which fits this time of the year much better. I used an old but very beautiful picture from Maggie’s Marie Claire shoot back in 2006.
