August 6, 2010 — Emma Thompson today received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and the moment was like no other. Surrounded by friends in the business, Hugh Laurie and Maggie Gyllenhaal she had the opportunity to share what every entertainer dreams of in getting: recognition in Hollywood.
In addition to her friends, hundreds of fans showed up as well. Joining in the excitement they had their camera phones out and yelled when the star was revealed. However, Thompson definitely did something nobody else has ever done, she had a pig and a pint on hand. Her star is out front of Pig ‘n Whistle Pub so it seemed absolutely perfect to honor them too.
The actress seemed delighted to have her name in the Hollywood Boulevard ceremony. You can see it in front of Pig ‘n Whistle Pub or check out Thompson in her new flick ‘Nanny McPhee Returns‘ on August 20.
