Maggie to present at Oscars

Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2006 will be presented on Sunday, February 25, 2007, at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center®.
The Oscars® will be televised in American live by the ABC Television Network at 5 p.m. PST (8 p.m. EST), beginning with a half-hour red carpet arrivals segment, “The Road to the Oscars.” Australian’s can catch it on channel 9 starting at 7.30pm AEST.

Maggie to be in the new Batman film?
Posted by April on February 14th, 2007Movie sites around the web are saying that Maggie will be the new Rachel Dawes in the up coming Batman film, ‘The Dark Knight‘. This would be taking over the role from Katie Holmes who played Rachel Dawes in Batman Begins. Also starring in this film is Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, Michael Caine and Gery Oldman.
Nothing yet has been officially confirmed.
Gyllenhaal to Host Oscar’s Sci-Tech Awards
Posted by April on February 8th, 2007Maggie Gyllenhaal will present the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Scientific and Technical Awards on Saturday, February 10, at the Beverly Wilshire hotel in Beverly Hills.
Gyllenhaal recently starred in the comedy feature Stranger Than Fiction. Her filmography includes roles in Donnie Darko, Secretary, Sherrybaby and one of this year’s Oscar® nominees for Best Animated Feature Film, Monster House.
Among the 15 awards that Gyllenhaal will present during the ceremony is the Academy’s Gordon E. Sawyer Award, an Oscar statuette, which is being bestowed on Ray Feeney for his lifetime of technological contributions to the industry.
The Scientific and Technical Awards are presented by the Academy for devices, methods, formulas, discoveries or inventions of special and outstanding value to the arts and sciences of motion pictures.
Segments of the Scientific and Technical Awards presentation will be shown during the 79th Academy Awards® telecast. Gwyneth loves Maggie!

“I was really killed by Babel, I loved it so much. Especially the two women, Adriana Barraza and Rinko Kikuchi. And what else? Maggie Gyllenhaal in Sherrybaby. She’s my favorite, she’s the best actress working. I’m obsessed with her. I think she is the real deal.”
